Organization / Business Responsibility Agreement:

By filling out this application below your company and the career exploration opportunity contact person(s) agree to accept the following responsibilities when engaging with youth:

  • Conform to all federal and state laws prohibiting discrimination on the basis of race, color, national origin, creed, sex, sexual
    orientation/gender identity, or disability.
  • Provide exploration or experience opportunity orientation, and any training to youth, including safety, and document youth’s
    completion.
  • Provide a safe environment and promptly report any accidents or injuries involving the youth.
  • Oversee the youth while on business premises and identify to youth other designated personnel to whom youth may report.
  • Ensure a health/safety plan is in place for youth that have communicated a pre-existing medical condition. Precautions for such
should be shared with related personnel who might be working with youth.
  • Evaluate youth’s performance and provide feedback regarding progress, if applicable.
  • If the youth is taking part in an unpaid exploration opportunity, ensure that the youth is not displacing regular employees per the
Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) and that the youth’s unpaid volunteer or internship work will in no way violate any collective bargaining
agreement between the organization and regularly scheduled employees.
  • If youth is taking part in a paid opportunity (job, internship, apprenticeship), all state and local labor laws and regulations are being followed and met including limited teen work hours during the school year. Review: https://www.lni.wa.gov/workers-rights/youth-employment/how-to-hire-minors
